About Shaina Bilow
Life is colorful and I believe that our knitting should be, too!
My knit and crochet designs are fun, sophisticated, and created with the kind of careful attention to detail that only a dedicated teacher can craft! I design my knitting and crochet patterns to be joyful. I want the people who knit my designs to feel that the instructions were clear and easy to follow, that the knitting (or crochet) was fun, and that the finished piece will be treasured.
In addition to being a Craft Yarn Council Certified Knitting Instructor and a Knitting Guild of America Professional Finisher, I’ve been knitting and crocheting for nearly two decades and working & teaching in Local Yarn Stores and in my private studio. My patterns and teaching style reflect my years of experience working with knitters of all levels and I enjoy answering even the most challenging queries about your projects.
Most of my work is self-published, but my designs have also been featured in Tahki/Stacy Charles Publications, Noro Magazine, Interweave Magazine, and Knitscene Magazine.
I live in Bergen County, NJ with my husband Matt, our toddler Harrison, and our rescue dog, Katie. In the rare moments when I'm not knitting, crocheting, or chasing a toddler, I enjoy puttering around on my sewing machine, putting together jigsaw puzzles, working with beads, baking, and cooking.
From beginner level to advanced knitters and crocheters, I’m a seasoned instructor who wants both my own students and knitters around the world using my patterns to feel empowered by what they can create with their hands. And, simply put, I just love turning string into unique, wearable pieces of art.
Oh yes, and my favorite color is: RAINBOWS!
