STILL LIFE AT THE COTTAGE IN SCHULL

The Shoals Cottage, Schull, Ireland
My health is improving even while Storm Kathleen worsens. The chair at the kitchen window where I have my paints on the sill is my favorite. I can see out across Roaringwater Bay if I turn my head to the right. Lashing rain out there, so I paint the cheerful items on the tabletop in front of me—my novel, a travel guide, maps, flowers and oranges. Try to write.
Grateful to still have life.
