The Noble Train of Artillery was a daring mission during the American Revolutionary War led by Henry Knox in the winter of 1775–1776. After the Americans captured Fort Ticonderoga, Knox was ordered to move dozens of heavy cannons and artillery pieces to the Continental Army in Boston, Massachusetts. To accomplish this, Knox organized teams that used strong oxen to pull large wooden sleds carrying the cannons. The journey covered more than 300 miles through forests, across frozen rivers, and over snowy mountains. Despite the harsh winter conditions, the oxen and soldiers successfully transported the artillery to Boston. When the cannons were placed on the heights overlooking the city, they helped force the British to evacuate, marking an important early success for the American cause. Visit
