Every so often, the road less traveled is a far more enjoyable experience. For example, when it’s a perfect autumn day. Gentle breezes caress the trees, making the leaves quake and rustle ever so slightly. White, puffy clouds fill the sky, should you be able to see it. And a mountain awaits you ahead, offering tantalizing glimpses of your goal, should you make it that far.
This road wends from Mount Crested Butte, Colorado, to Gothic. It is always a gorgeous drive, but on a fall day it transforms into an extraordinary drive. It’s not a long road, by any means. But, it will take you a long time to make your way down it. You’ll want to stop and take in sights, enjoying the moment and enjoying the experience.
