About Content Bookstore...
Content Bookstore was born in late 2014, when owner Jessica decided Northfield could not lose its beloved local bookstore. After many visits to Monkey See, Monkey Read with her young daughter, and hearing that the shop’s owner was ready to move on, Jessica took a leap of faith. In just one whirlwind week, with the help of loyal customers and friends, the store was moved to its new home in the historic Perman Building and reintroduced to the community as Content. What began as a bold effort to preserve a bookstore for Northfield quickly blossomed into a thriving hub for readers of all ages.
Since then, Content has grown alongside the community, expanding into larger spaces, adding Kids’Content with a wide selection of children’s books, toys, and games, and continually refreshing its offerings to delight readers new and old. Through challenges and celebrations alike, the bookstore has been sustained by Northfield’s extraordinary support and by a dedicated team of booksellers who bring warmth, expertise, and care to every interaction. Today, Content stands as both a destination for book lovers near and far and a welcoming space where conversations, connections, and a love of stories thrive. We are honored to be part of downtown Northfield’s vibrant life, and we look forward to many more years of reading, recommending, and growing with you.
